Helena Emmans showed some amazing 'wrapped thread' pieces with us over the summer and we have some more smaller ones in now. Helena creates these in her studio on Skye by a very labour intensive process involving hand dying the silk threads and wrapping them around polished wood. The results are pure alchemy - magical little things!
I am loving the new pieces we have from JM Fulton, showing with us for the first time this winter.
I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of his work in 2013, which varies from the out-and-out funny to beautifully observed still lifes, all in an unmistakable drawing style.
To kick things off - 'Get that old cow out of my way'.
We had a marvellous time at Peter's Yard after hours with Fiona Wilson (who brought some great work, see below) and her husband Trevor, an ace photographer.
Stuart's 'tache is unpopular after this photo, which he is convinced ages him by about ten years...sorry Stu!
As we have had so many questions over the year about print processes, I will be adding a few pieces about them, written by the artists, over the next couple of months.
