Linda Pettie's gorgeously lush depictions of landscape. The evening event kicks off at 5.30pm and all are welcome.
"I want to capture on the painting surface a fleeting moment of light and colour playing over mountain, woodland or water."
"I love to work gesturally and am always experimenting to try to discover new forms of self expression."
There are no inhabitants or intrusions in these wild spaces; just the play of light on leaves and water, the imagined rustlings and birdsong and the warmth of the sun...
The pieces are also definitely tactile pieces that need to be met 'in the flesh'; jpegs do a disservice to the subtleties of the paint application and depth!
Hope you can make it along to visit a little wilderness in Howe Street.
