Such a boost to have a beautiful evening for the opening of Leo du Feu and Susan Smith's show 'In the Outdoors'. It is the first time the mother-and-son artists have shown together, and I think we were all really pleased with how the work looked together on the wall.
At least for once we had the option of using the pavement as an extension, which proved handy a couple of hours after this tranquil scene! Susan was unusually nervous, so we were glad to see her get the first sale early on in the evening.
Stuart produced his usual excellent vegetarian nibbles buffet, which was totally decimated, refilled and cleared again. Not a crumb remained at the end of the night.
My last two blog posts give you an idea of the work on show, but there is such a huge amount on the walls this time that a visit is highly recommended. I was banging in new nails left, right and centre on Thursday night to get everything hung...
Standing room only! The gallery filled up so quickly, probably helped by the sunny evening and promise of excellent art and excellent company; a great gathering all round and we thank everyone for attending and hopefully enjoying all we had to offer.
... and thank you Leo and Susan for putting up such a great show, long in planning. 'In the Outdoors' will be on show until June 2nd.
